Piggy's breed is a Cotton De Tulear. This breed was brought to Madagascar by Spanish and Portugal sailors in the 16th Century.

In 2005 he was found wandering around the Stanford Train Station in Connecticut and brought to a pet store in Greenwich. Elvia’s family adopted Piggy since no one claimed him after several attempts to find his original owner.

Salient Associates partners decided to adopt him as the company's mascot, and since then he is very much part of the team.
